If your shifter is in good shape, you can restore shift feel by installing one of our AX15 shifter repair kits. This kit includes new bushings, a seat and a dust cap. The AX15, sometimes called the AXS, was primarily used in the Cherokee XJ from 1987 to 1999, the Comanche from 1987 to 1992, and the Wrangler YJ from 1989 to 1995. It also shows up in several other Jeeps built between 1990 and 2000. Be sure to check your shifter’s seat size before ordering. Depending on your version, it will be either 1 9/16” or 2” in diameter.
