Since model year 2005, Dodge Ram trucks with manual transmissions have been outfitted with the G56 6 speed transmission, which replaced the previously used NV5600 transmission. 2005 saw the G56 being used in Ram 2500 and 3500 models, and 2008 saw it being fitted in Ram 4500 and 5500 models. All are still using this same transmission.
The aluminum Cummins G56 transmission is reported to be a smoother running and quieter operating unit than the cast-iron NV5600, but it's also said to be less reliable, especially when being subjected to heavy hauling duties. We carry G56 6 speed transmission parts for your upgrade needs, including a G56 needle bearing kit and G56 transmission rebuild kits. Shop for Dodge G56 transmission parts here and save!
