NV3550 Selector Shift Rail
Having trouble getting your Jeep NV3550 to shift, even though the synchros and shift fork are in good shape? You may have a worn shift rail. When you change gears, the gear lever pushes on this selector shift rail, rotating it and moving it back and forth. This movement operates the shift forks, engaging the gears. Over time, this sliding wears down the surface of the rail, putting it out of alignment. In turn, this causes rapid fork wear and poor shifting.
This NV3500 shift rail fits 5-speed manual transmissions used in 2000–2005 Jeep TJ Wranglers and XJ Cherokees. It is a direct replacement for MOPAR part number 5015951AB.
