This part moves the mode slider, which shifts the case between two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive high and four-wheel drive low.

The NP231 transfer case was used in GM products from 1989 to 2000, and Chrysler products from 1989 to 2005. Models that use this case include the Blazer, Suburban, K-Series, D-Series, Ram truck and Ramcharger.

4 of 5 Correct fork but wrong shaft. February 11, 2019

Product description lists fork casting number for identification. The shaft that the fork is installed on though is not the same for all applications. The shaft on this product was too long, about 10.2 inches. I was able to cut it down to 9.38 and use it.
