NV4500 Bearings for Manual Transmission Repair
The New Venture Gear Corporation, makers of the
NV4500 manual transmission, was born
out of a joint venture between General Motors’ Muncie Transmission Division and Chrysler
Corporation's New Process Gear Division in 1990. The goal was to produce a full line of
manual transmissions suitable for use in both Chrysler and GM vehicles, with the heavy-duty
five-speed NV4500, introduced in 1991, being the most noted. The NV4500 was installed in
GM and Chrysler vehicles between 1991 and 2007 and has been a popular aftermarket
upgrade in SUVs and light trucks from Dodge, GM, Ford, Jeep and Toyota, with adapters
available to mate the NV4500 to a variety of engines and transfer cases.
There were two main versions of this transmission – the NV4500LD and the NV4500HD. The
LD was used in GM gas and diesel rigs and Dodge V8s. The HD was installed in light-duty
Dodge trucks fitted with the Cummins Turbo Diesel engine and their Magnum V10 gas-engine
trucks. Allstate Gear is a top NV4500 5-speed Dodge bearings distributor. If you need an
