G56 6-Speed Manual Transmission PartsThe G56 transmission is a 6-speed transmission manufactured by Mercedes-Benz in Brazil and used for light- to medium-duty diesel trucks. The G56 transmission is considerably lighter and shifts much smoother than other transmissions, unlike the NV5600 transmission, because of its dual mass flywheel.
The G56 and NV5600 transmissions are often compared to each other because they were simultaneously produced and released together. Around 2005, pickups often either had the G56 or NV5600 transmission, and eventually the G56 transmission replaced the New Venture altogether.

Dodge New Venture NV5600 6-Speed Manual Transmission Parts
The NV5600 6-speed manual transmission was used from 1998-2005 in Dodge 3/4-ton and one-ton trucks (2500 and 3500 Series) that featured the Cummins 5.9L Turbo Diesel. Due to frequent complaints from users, particularly relating to the towing capabilities of the NV5600, the unit was upgraded in 2001 with several modifications, including an improved synchro design, upgraded clutch and NV5600 input shaft.
